The Tennessee Association of Professional Interpreters and Translators is proud to be holding its 9th Annual Convention on September 9 through 11, 2011, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Scarritt Bennett Center.
This year our conference will highlight the ever more important field of community interpreting and cultural awareness. Friday’s session will be dedicated to this matter and will feature Marjorie Bancroft, a national leader in the development of training programs for community interpreting, cultural competence and language access.
We will also have sessions on technology, ethics and standards, techniques and terminology, and human trafficking in our communities. Two sessions will be about the NBCMI and CCHI medical interpreter certification processes for the certificates that these two different organizations offer.
