Dear NOTA Members,

This is a reminder that NOTA will be hosting a workshop on Building Successful Relationships with Translation Agencies on May 5th, 2012 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Bexley Public Library Auditorium located at 2411 E. Main Street, Bexley, OH 43209.

The workshop will be presented by Madalena Sanchez Zampaulo, a Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese translator and interpreter as well as the Founder and CEO of Accessible Translation Solutions, a language services company based out of Columbus, OH. The workshop will present tips on how to prepare your resumes to work with translation agencies, how to work effectively with translation agencies in order to maintain a long-term business relationship and will examine best practices as well as practices to avoid when dealing with translation agencies. The cost of the workshop is $20/person including lunch. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. and will feature an assortment of fresh sandwiches and salads from Panera Bread.

Happy Easter, Everyone!

NOTA is excited to announce the next Blog Contest. The topic for our April Blog Contest will be “Language and Career Aspirations.” And here is the question that you will need to answer:

“Can you recall any translation project or interpreting assignment that has inspired you to pursue a different career? How did it inspire you and which career you have decided to explore upon completion of that assignment?”
