Language Trainers are looking for a part time freelance European Portuguese tutor for one of their clients who would like to take a total of 24 hours (12 sessions of 2-hour lessons) of Portuguese lessons at their home in Cleveland (44107). They are beginners and they would like to have classes once per week on Saturdays, starting as soon as possible.

Spanish-English Legal Terminology Workshop starting on April 10, 2013

During this 3 part online workshop, participants will learn common English translations for a variety of Spanish legal terms, enabling them to complete a comprehensive glossary. The workshop will be interactive, including tests and polls throughout to encourage participant engagement. Finally, all participants will be provided with the opportunity to complete a Spanish>English legal translation sample, which will then be marked offline by the instructor, Suzanne Deliscar, a Canadian lawyer-linguist. Please note that the terminology discussed in this course would be terms used in the North American context.

Next course starts on: 10 April 2013 at 12 PM EDT (5 pm British Summer Time).
There will be 3 sessions at one week intervals (10 April, 17 April and 24 April) at the same time each week.

NOTA will be hosting an ATA Certification Exam, which will be held on May 18th, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Satterfield Hall Room 112-A, Kent State University located in Kent, Ohio 44242.

All candidates must meet education and experience prerequisites prior to registering for the exam and provide proof of a combination of education and work experience in order to qualify to take the examination. To ensure that you meet the necessary education and experience prerequisites for the exam, you must complete the Eligibility Requirements Form and submit it to the ATA Headquarters along with a payment of $35. You can download the Eligibility Requirements Form as well as the instructions on how to complete it from the following link: http://www.atanet.org/certification/eligibility_requirementsform.php.

To be eligible to take the exam, candidate must be an ATA member prior to the exam date and all candidates not currently ATA certified must have offered proof of eligibility in order to register for the exam. All sittings have a maximum capacity and admission is based on the order in which registrations are received at Headquarters.

The exam registration fee is $300. To register for the exam, please go to the following link: http://www.atanet.org/certification/upcoming.php to access the Upcoming Exam Sittings and Registration Form. Please print the form, complete it and submit it to the ATA Headquarters along with your payment of $300. Please note that the payment must be received by ATA Headquarters at least two weeks prior to the exam date (no later than May 4, 2013 for the Kent exam sitting). Otherwise, late registrations, if accepted, are subject to an additional fee of $45, if Headquarters determines that the candidate meets the eligibility requirements, the space is available and that exams can be delivered in time.
