This is a friendly reminder that on Saturday, September 21st, NOTA will be hosting the Client Relations & Payment Practices Workshop, which will be followed by our traditional NOTA Annual Meeting & Dinner.

The Client Relations & Payment Practices Workshop will be presented by Ted Wozniak, a freelance German to English financial translator and a current member of the ATA Board of Directors. The workshop will examine sources for screening potential clients for creditworthiness and other characteristics, common “pitfalls” to look for in agency agreements and how to deal with client complaints. You will learn where to find information about potential clients, where to report on existing bad clients, clauses in agency and non-disclosure agreements requiring special attention and strategies for dealing with complaints after delivery. The workshop will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will be held in the Medium Meeting Room at the Mayfield Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library located at 500 SOM Center Road, Mayfield, OH 44143.

The registration fees for the workshop are set as follows: $10 – for NOTA Members, $20 – for Non-Members, and Free for Students. To RSVP for the workshop, please send the corresponding payment to Reinhold Federmann at the following address: 3085 Brush Road, Richfield, OH 44286-9630. In addition to this, please send an email to Vitaliy Plinto at vvp13ster@gmail.com and indicate the total number of people in your group (including yourself) that will be attending the event and the membership status of each person in your group.

The Annual Dinner will be held at Valenti’s, an Italian restaurant located at 3365 Richmond Road, #130, Beachwood, OH 44122. The dinner will begin at 6:15 p.m. and will feature some of the exquisite dishes from Italian cuisine including Merluzzo Livornese (a Cod prepared with smashed fresh tomato, red pepper, crushed garlic and extra virgin oil), Piccata Franchaise (Franchese Chicken Cutlet prepared with fresh lemon, capers, white wine, Romano cheese and fresh herbs with a butter cream sauce), Pork Milanese (pounded thin, breaded and pan fried, accompanied by fresh tomato, basil, arugula, balsamic reduction and extra virgin oil), Eggplant Parmesan (roasted eggplant layered with house-made Pomodoro sauce, finished with melted provolone and mozzarella), Cannolli (tube-shaped shells filled with a sweet creamy filling containing ricotta) and much more.

The cost of the dinner will be $25/person with a chicken or eggplant/vegetarian entrée) or $29/person with a fish or meat entrée, plus taxes and gratuities. Each guest will be issued a separate bill that must be paid directly to the restaurant. Please do not mail any checks for the dinner to NOTA. The RSVP deadline for the NOTA Annual Dinner is September 14th.
