Dear NOTA Members,

I am writing to announce that NOTA Board has a couple of positions to fill: Public Relations Chair and Newsletter Editor. We are contacting to kindly ask you if you would be willing to step in for one or both of these positions. Please note that both positions are volunteering positions, however, the benefits of taking on these positions with NOTA are enormous. Not only you will be able to network with other language specialists and share the knowledge about our industry, you will also be given a unique opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and to serve your community.

Please find the description of each position below:

Public Relations Chair

The person elected as Public Relations Chair shall prepare all publicity, public relations and other such materials to be released or otherwise produced by the Association. To this end, the Public Relations Chair shall be fully authorized to designate one or more persons from the Association’s membership to assist, individually or as a committee, in the aforesaid activities.

Newsletter Editor

The person elected as Newsletter Editor shall prepare, design and edit quarterly NOTA Bene newsletters and distribute them to the membership. Experience in writing and editing newsletters is a great plus.

The positions are a two-year commitment. The NOTA Board meets quarterly for approximately one hour, either in person or virtually (via Skype). NOTA requires a quorum to exist and currently does not meet that standard. You can locate our bylaws at the following link: http://www.notatranslators.org/byLaws.aspx.

If you have any questions concerning either position or would be willing to step in to serve on the NOTA Executive Committee, please reply to John P. Shaklee at jshaklee@att.net or (330) 327-2189 and indicate the position of your interest.

Finally, on behalf of the entire NOTA Board and myself personally, I would like to thank our resigning Public Relations Chair Svetlana Ball for her time and dedication for providing excellent service to NOTA and wish her best of luck in all her pursuits.

Thank you in advance for your interest and dedication to NOTA!
